How to set up a freshwater aquarium

a) Buy a tank, filter, heater, substrate, and plants.

b) Place the tank on a sturdy table or other base where temperature doesn’t fluctuate too much. -It should also be close to an electrical outlet.
– A good room temperature is approximately 25 Celsius. Don’t put it too close to a window because this will cause overgrowth of algae and the tank will get too hot.

c) Fill the tank with water and wait at least 3 weeks.
– rinse the substrate and put it into the tank.
– Set up the filter and heater and turn them on.
– Arrange the plants in the tank.

d) After things have been running for 3 weeks, do a water change and then add only 3 fish or less.
